Who is The Great Beer Experiment? 

We love craft beers.
We love that craft beers are casual and embody fun.

For more than a decade, we have worked with friends across the beer industry, across the globe, to source for great craft beers. We are now a wholly online store and work towards delivering delicious craft beers direct to people’s doors. 
 
Having tasted and supplied craft beers for so long, we know the beers & flavour profiles that work for different occasion. The Great Beer Experiment taps into this extensive knowledge and experience to curate a range of craft beers you and your party will enjoy. As we tell our friends and family, “we bring the beer, you bring the gear!”

ORDER

1. What is the legal age to purchase beer from your store?
The legal drinking age in Singapore is 18 years old. Hence, our products can only be ordered, received and consumed by customers aged 18 and above.

 

2. What are your delivery rates?
All orders $50 and above, to a single location, comes with free delivery. For orders under $50, a $20 delivery fee will be charged.


3. Just spotted a mistake in my submission of delivery address. What should I do? 
Get in touch with us at online@greatbeerexperiment. If the order has already been dispatched, re-delivery charge of $20 applies.

 

4. How do I know if my order has been processed? 
Upon completion at the check-out page, you will receive an Order Confirmation email from us. Once we have despatched your order, you will be notified with an Out For Delivery email. Upon receiving this email, your beers should reach you between 3pm and 8pm. When the packaged is delivered, you will be notified with an Order Delivered email. If you do not receive any of our emails, please check your spam mail folder.

 

5. Do I have to create an account on the website before purchasing? 
You can choose to create an online account with us or as a guest. When you have an existing account with The Great Beer Experiment’s online platform, the system will remember your information such as billing address and other contact details. This means no more re-typing of your details and a more pleasant experience. After all, online shopping should be a breeze.

 

6. Do you deliver the beers cold?
Our beers are imported and stored chilled, but they sit in a non-chilled vehicle for a couple of hours during the delivery to you. We recommend chilling them in the fridge (not freezer) for at least 4 hours, for optimal flavours, before consumption.

Should you wish to have your beers delivered cold and ready for immediate consumption, purchase Foam box and Ice from our shop. We will pack your beers in the Styrofoam box and top up with ice before delivery.

1 Styrofoam box can hold 36 bottles/cans.

 

7. I would like to send my package as a surprise gift. What should I do? 
We love surprises! How about we add a hand-written card? Indicate in your order that

  • This is a surprise gift
  • The message you would like us to pen in the card

Please ensure that someone is on premise to receive the surprise gift during delivery 

 

8. I am not based in Singapore but would like to send my package to someone residing in Singapore. Is it legal? 
Yes, so long as your recipient are above the legal age of 18. 

 

9. Can I return my purchase? 
You may return your item for any of the following reasons:  

  • Wrong item in your package
  • Damaged item upon arrival

DELIVERY

10. What are your delivery rates?
All orders $50 and above, to a single location, comes with free delivery. For orders under $50, a $20 delivery fee will be charged.

11. What is the cut-off time for same day delivery?
2pm. All orders received before 2pm, except on Sundays & Public Holidays, will be delivered within the same day between 3pm and 8pm. For orders received after 2pm, delivery will be the following day. We are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.

12. What is the estimated time of delivery?
3pm to 8pm.

 

13. Can I arrange for a specific delivery time?
Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver at a specific time. Our delivery team go through a pre-planned, optimised route, to ensure every order is delivered by 8pm.

14. Do you deliver on Sundays and Public Holidays?
We are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.

 

15. Can I change the date of the delivery?
Sure. Drop us an email at online@greatbeerexperiment.com with

  • Your name and contact details
  • Order number
  • Your preferred delivery date

 

16. How will I be notified of my delivery?
Upon completion at the check-out page, you will receive an Order Confirmation email from us. Once we have despatched your order, you will be notified with an Out For Delivery email. 17. Will the delivery guy call me before he delivers?
Our delivery team is instructed to call you when they are on their way. However, as road safety is a priority, they may miss out on the call at times. Please ensure that the mobile number that you submit with your order is correct.

18. What happens if I'm not home at the time of the delivery?
Our delivery teams operates on a Contactless Delivery model. If they are allowed access to your building, the order will be left at your doorstep. The delivery team will sent us a photo as proof of delivery.

However, if they are denied access into the building (which is very common in condos), they will try to reach you via your mobile phone to see if you will be able to help. If not, the delivery will be marked as failed. We will follow up and work with you to schedule a 2nd delivery attempt.

Do note that there will be a re-delivery fee of $20, so please try to have someone on premise to receive the order.

19. I will not be home in time to receive the delivery. Can someone else receive on my behalf? 
Yes, your family, friend or colleague can help receive your order. Note that all delivery recipients must be aged 18 or above, with proof of appropriate identification, and must be able to quote the Order Number when requested. Upon receiving the package, the recipient will be asked to sign the Delivery Order Form as an order completion acknowledgement. 

 

20. Do you deliver the beers cold?

21. Do you deliver to hotels?
Yes we do. Most hotel staff do not accept food delivery items on behalf of their guests. In such cases, we may require you or the recipient to collect the items at the hotel lobby. We will get our driver to call you before he reaches.

 

22. Do you deliver to offices in the CBD area?
Yes we do, but sometimes, the drivers may not be able to access the building. In such cases we may require you or the recipient to collect the items at the office ground floor/lobby. We will get our driver to call you before he reaches.

Indicate in your order that the order is for a corporate event and the time you need the beers by.
 

23. Are there any areas in Singapore that you cannot deliver to?
We are unable to deliver to P.O boxes, army camps, ports (such as airport, terminal port, shipyards, etc), as well as outlying islands (such as Kusu Island, St.John's Island, Pulau Ubin, etc). To find out if your delivery zone is restricted, email us at online@greatbeerexperiment.com

 

24. Do you deliver outside of Singapore?

We do not export outside Singapore.

 

 

25. Just spotted a mistake in my submission of delivery address. What should I do? 
Get in touch with us at online@greatbeerexperiment. If the order has already been dispatched, re-delivery charge of $20 applies.

 

26. I would like to send my package as a surprise gift. What should I do? 
We love surprises! How about we add a hand-written card? Indicate in your order that

Invoice for the order will not be inserted into the gift box. 

 

27. I am not based in Singapore but would like to send my package to someone residing in Singapore. Is it legal? 
Yes, so long as your recipient are above the legal age of 18. 

 

28. I didn't get my delivery! What's going on?
Do reach us at +6593226136 if your delivery did not reach your after 8pm. While you wait for us to get back to you, do check if the order has been left on your doorstep, or if anyone else in the same address has helped to receive the parcel.

29. I received my delivery but the items are wrong / damaged. Please help.
Oh no! Please snap a photo of your order items and send it to us by replying to your Order Confirmation email. We'll make sure the wrong / damaged items gets rectified / exchanged as soon as possible.

SELF PICKUP

30. Can I do a self-pickup for my online order?
Sure you can! We are based in Woodlands and the pickup address will be communicated to you. There is no minimum spend for self-pickup orders. If you plan to do a self-pickup, our warehouse is open from 9pm to 4pm on Mondays to Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays. 

Before you checkout from our website, select the "Self-Pickup" option. Please indicate the date and time of your collection. Once the items are ready, you will receive a Ready For Self-Pickup email.

31. Can I walk in to buy? 
No. We are a 100% online store. We do occasionally hold warehouse sales. Subscribe to our mailing list for updates.

PRODUCT

32. How should I store the beers at home? 
Fridge is the best. Always, away from light and heat. And keep the bottles and cans sitting upright.

 

33. How long can I keep the beers for? 
Alcohol is a natural preservative so craft beers technically do not spoil and are safe to consume any time. However, they do have recommended enjoy-by dates, which are an indicator of quality and should not to be confused with expiry dates. These dates indicates the consumption timeframe the brewer recommends for maximum quality and taste. Beyond the best-enjoy-by dates, the beer's flavour and aroma may change slightly from when it was at the peak of its youth.

There are however bottle-conditioned beers which can be stored and aged for a couple of years. Like some wines, it gets better with age. To find out which these beers are, key into our search box for “Quadruple” “Imperial Stout” and “Lambic”.

 

34. Do you ship directly from the breweries/ cideries? 
Yes. It’s crucial that the products you purchase are in optimal condition and have been handled properly from source to seller. We work directly with the breweries. No shady dealings, no stale stocks. 

 

35. Do you have any rare or limited-edition stuffs? 
Very often. Check on our OMG collection and subscribe to our mailing list for updates. 

 

36. Can I reserve these rare or limited-edition stuffs? 
Not quite but VIP members of The Great Beer Experiment receive ‘early bird’ access to rare labels. Read our VIP section to find out how to become one.

 

37. Quite a noob! I am not sure which to buy. Can you make a recommendation? 
It can be confusing deciding whether to choose Brand A or B or if the selected quantities are adequate for your party. Our Variety Packs are curated to make it easy for you. View our Variety Pack Collection.

CORPORATE AND PARTY ENQUIRY

38. How much should I order?
A general rule is to assume guests will have 1 to 2 drinks during each hour of the party. Plan for 1.5 drinks per guest per hour of your function. This should ensure you have enough alcohol for your party.

No. of guests x Hours of party time x 1.5 drinks

Example:
No. of guests = 250
Hours of party time = 4
You will need 250 guests x 4 hours x 1.5 drinks = 1500 drinks.

Let’s assume too that you will be serving a mix of beer, wine, and others beverages.

Assuming 50% are beer drinkers, you should be ordering 50% of 1500 drinks = 750 beers.

45. How do I become a VIP?
